Upper Hand Lacrosse was started by Patrick Cornelius in order to serve the Jacksonville community as a goalie coach and continue to grow the sport of lacrosse. We value giving back to this sport by teaching the next generations of youth, high school, and college players the right way to play the game.

As an East Coast native, and growing up in a lacrosse hot bed, Maryland, I fell in love with the sport of lacrosse at a very young age. My love for the game grew stronger through high school and at college at the University of Lynchburg, which led to me coaching division 1 college lacrosse for 3 years at Jacksonville University. Living in Jacksonville, I quickly fell in love with people and the beaches, along with growing the sport of lacrosse in this area. Given the need and desire for a full-time goalie coach in Jacksonville and the neighboring cities, I decided that I would provide the coaching to many goalies and friends I have met in Jax and along the way, plus new ones.

Our Goal
My intention with Upper Hand Lacrosse is to share all tricks, secrets, and techniques that myself or other coaches may have. We want to give players everything we know, whether it was from learning it the hard way ourselves or hours of experience and research put into the sport. We are dedicated to following the success and growth of each player and will adjust any weak techniques and positively reinforce good execution. We believe that every athlete is unique and should be coached to their style, to bring out their best.
